Mill Troubleshooting Guide & Warranty
The Alexander Home Greek Mills are built to last a lifetime! If your mill has seized or stopped grinding, excess moisture or incorrect salt size is usually the culprit. Try these quick steps for troubleshooting:
1. Clear the Mechanism (Moisture Check)
Moisture can dissolve and re-harden salt, causing the grinder to seize.
- Empty the mill completely.
- Tap the shaft downward onto a soft towel to dislodge trapped grains.
- Brush the mechanism with a dry, soft-bristle brush to remove residue.
- Test the handle while empty. Once it rotates smoothly, refill it.
2. Check Your Salt Size
Recommendation: Use coarse salt. The mechanism will struggle or jam if you use large salt rocks.
Tip: Check the care sheet included in your original packaging for full cleaning instructions. Keeping your mill dry is the best way to prevent issues!
